2019: Here’s to 365 Days of Flawless Hair!

We’re all guilty of not paying enough attention to our hair. With everyday chores, getting ready for work, paying bills on time, and everything in between, we forget all about them!

We understand that it’s hard to give your hair the care it deserves. But that doesn’t mean you have to start 2019 with dry and damaged hair.

We’ve compiled a list of hair care routines to follow and are sure to give your hair a glow that steals the show!

1. Straight Hair

If you’re among those that believe straight hair doesn’t need much care, you’ve got another thing coming! Straight hair doesn’t mean you start skimping on your hair care routine. If you have straight hair, you’re probably all too familiar with the struggle of dealing with greasy hair.

An oily scalp is no excuse to wash your hair daily. In all honesty, it’s actually counterproductive since your hair starts producing more oil to make up for the loss. Instead of washing them daily, stick to washing them once every 3 days.

Next in comes the conditioning. As tempted as you are to apply conditioner to the very roots of your hair to rinse off the oil, don’t do it! A better way of conditioning your hair is to start from the nape of your neck and continue all the way to the tips.

2. Wavy Hair

Wavy Hair

Lying somewhere between straight and curly, wavy hair can become quite challenging when it comes to their styling. Oily at your scalp while dry at your ends, this hair type needs a customized hair care routine so that your hair game stays on fleek!

It’s safe to say that whatever your hair type is, daily washing won’t do you any good. Wash your hair once after every 3–4 days and use a microfiber towel for drying them. This keeps the annoying frizz away and you don’t end up looking like an evil witch from Azkaban!

Oiling your hair with carrot seed oil softens your hair, tames frizz, and restores moisture. With its antibacterial properties, it prevents the formation of bacteria and fungus due to sebum.

3. Curly Hair

Curly Hair

Ah, the joy of having curly hair!

With its messy waves, your hair gives you a playful character! But curly hair has its struggles.  It’s the most difficult to deal with, as it gets dry and frizzy more often.

Your curls prevent your scalp oil to reach the ends of your hair, leaving them all dry from the tips. Using strong shampoos only worsens the problem as it strips away the remaining bits of oil. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo and limit your hair wash to only 3 washes a week.

Skipping oiling isn’t really a good idea as curly hair needs far more moisture than other hair types. Untangling your hair is another painful experience that people with curly hair can relate to. Detangle them while you have conditioner in your hair—this removes the tangles and knots, without breaking a lot of hair.

Maintaining a hair care routine can be tough. But it’s worth it when your dazzling hair becomes the first thing people notice about you. However, this doesn’t mean you go all out by using products heavily laden with chemicals. Using natural products for your hair gives them a soft and shiny look, whilst keeping the chemical contact to a minimum.
